Kia Motors is all set to launch the facelift of its most successful model in India. The Seltos is by far the most selling and the biggest success of Kia in India. The mid-size SUV was launched in 2019 and is long due for an update. Also, since its first launch, the segment has become more competitive due to the rivals like Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, etc. Well, for all those who were waiting for the Seltos facelift, Kia is finally set to launch the 2023 Seltos in the coming months, probably by the festive season. Here's our detailed report of every possible new feature that the 2023 Kia Seltos is going to offer over the current model.
2023 Kia Seltos Facelift: Exterior Features
As Kia has already launched the 2023 Seltos in several international markets, its exterior design is no more under speculation. On the exterior, the 2023 Seltos gets significant changes over the current model. From different headlamp and taillamp designs to a new front grill, new bumper, and new alloy wheels, the 2023 Seltos now look more badass than before. The DRLs are now slightly different as they horizontally stretch from the grill to the edge of the headlamps and end in a vertical design.
The taillamps have also been redesigned and get a slim LED lightbar with a centrally embedded Kia logo that stretches across the width of the vehicle. The connected lightbar design makes the 2023 Seltos look modern. The front and rear bumper also get a design overhaul. The front bumper gets a new design lower grill and new skid plate, while the rear bumper includes integrated reflectors and rear fog lamps. However, the front ice-cube design fog lamps remain the same as the current model. Moreover, the 2023 Seltos also gets a new design dual-tone alloy wheels.
2023 Kia Seltos Facelift: Interior Features
The Seltos has always been a feature and tech-loaded SUV. The current model focused on comfort and convenience features, whereas the new 2023 Seltos will be loaded with several next-generation and advanced features like level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), next-gen Kia Connect connected car tech, etc. Seltos rivals like MG Hector and MG Astor already offer these level 2 ADAS features. The level 2 ADAS in 2023 Seltos could offer features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, etc.
Kia Seltos rivals like Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, and MG Astor have been offering panoramic sunroofs for quite some time now. Also, buyers have been demanding this feature in the Kia Seltos. Though the internationally available 2023 Seltos do not get a panoramic sunroof, Kia is expected to add a smart voice-controlled panoramic sunroof in the upcoming Seltos facelift, especially for India. Apart from this, the 2023 Kia Seltos will get a fully digital instrument cluster (driver display) and an electric-powered tailgate.
On the Infotainment front, Kia is expected to give the Seltos the latest-gen touchscreen with an updated and modern-looking UI/UX. Also, Kia may replace the gear shifter with a rotary knob in the automatic variants of the 2023 Seltos.
2023 Kia Seltos Facelift: Powertrain
Kia Seltos facelift is expected to carry forward the current powertrain options. However, Kia might introduce a new 1.5 litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with the 2023 Seltos. The transmission options will remain the same with options for the 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
