According to our sources, Maruti is soon going to launch Grand Vitara CNG in the Indian market. The bookings for the same will commence soon and it will have similar specs as found in CNG models of Ertiga and CNG. In this article, we share everything you need to know about the upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara CNG.

Powering this mid-size CNG SUV will be a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. In CNG mode, this engine belts out 87 bhp of power with a peak torque of 121.5 Nm. The power output is the same as seen in the XL6. This engine will be mated to a five-speed stick shift as standard.

Considering Grand Vitara is a flagship vehicle from Maruti, we can expect a six-speed torque converter too with this mid-size SUV. We say it because the carmaker will soon launch Brezza CNG and it'll be offered with an automatic transmission too as an option.

According to our sources, the bookings of the Grand Vitara CNG will commence soon and one can book the SUV across all dealerships in India. We expect the booking price to be set at Rs 11,000. In addition to this, Maruti is likely to introduce the CNG version of the SUV in Delta and Zeta trims only. The price of the CNG-powered Grand Vitara will be up by at least Rs 95,000 from its petrol counterpart.

The fuel economy of the SUV is not yet out but we believe it will be north of 25 km/kg. With the decline in diesel SUV sales, Maruti is grabbing the market in every possible way to make the commute affordable. They also have the strong hybrid version of the Grand Vitara and the fuel economy of that sticks to 27.97 kmpl.
